The standard melt and pour soap we sell is unique in that it is pure soap, containing no detergents. Its see-through aspect is the result of sugars such as glycerin being used to make the soap clear. As a result, it will always appear a little "yellow" and a little "cloudy" (sugars tend to do this to things).
If you are really picky about clarity, especially if you are embedding something in your soap and you want it to be super seeable, then you might prefer to work with our Crystal soap base. This product contains a small amount of detergent as well as extra glycerine to increase clarity. It is still not as clear as a 100% detergent based product, but it is clearer than our standard "clear soap".

In working with this soap base I have found it to be more sticky than the Clear Soap Base. During melting it seems to bubble more, also. It takes longer to set up and dissolves more rapidly than the Clear Soap, so it doesn't have a very long 'shower' life. It colors nicely and holds a fragrance well. For the price, I'd go for the Clear Base.
