Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
  • What's the difference between this and Magnesium Myristrate and which is better for pressed eyeshadows , powders and highlighters?

Magnesium Myristate is recommended as an adhesion booster for loose powder cosmetics.  For a Pressed Powder, you need a binding powder, and the secret ingredient for that (which we use) is the Zinc Stearate.

TKB's MyMix Press base is a blend that we create, which we feel has the right amount of Zinc Stearate plus other ingredients to make for a good base powder.  It uses these ingredients:
Mica (surface treated with Carnauba Wax), our C-Smax <  This keeps the product smooth flowing.
Calcium Carbonate < An inexpensive, lightweight filler powder which improves texture
    Zinc Stearate < For adhesion
Kaolin Clay < An inexpensive, lightweight filler powder which improves texture
Silicon Dioxide < Improves slip and skin feel
Allantoin < Good for the skin
